Eloise J. Robertson, 81, was born March 18, 1938 in Devils Lake, ND, and passed away peacefully on January 29, 2020 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.
Eloise was born to Henry and Bollette (Boe) Hegg and grew up on the family farm south of Edmore, ND. She attended school in Lawton graduating in 1956. Upon graduation she attended Lutheran Bible College in Minneapolis. Her working career began as a telephone operator in Lakota. Eloise moved to Grand Forks in 1966 and continued to work as a telephone operator. It was during this time she met Gary, the love of her life and soulmate.
Eloise and Gary were married on July 6, 1968 at the Concordia Church in Edmore, ND. They are current members of Sharon Lutheran Church in Grand Forks, ND.
In 1982 Eloise began a 36 year career at the University of North Dakota working both at UND Aerospace (5 years) and the Management Department in the College of Business & Public Administration (31 years) until her retirement in 2018.
Eloise’s hobbies included scrapbooking, sewing, finding the best deals at garage sales, and most importantly, spending time with family. She was great for challenging them to a game of UNO. Eloise was an avid baker, famous for her pumpkin and apple pies, and loved to carry on the tradition of making lefse every holiday season with her family. She enjoyed many playful visits with her grand dogs, Akira and Ella.
Eloise is survived by her husband of 51 years, Gary Robertson; daughter, Nancy (Rich) Prieve of Alexandria, VA; son, Kevin (Dureanna) Robertson of East Grand Forks, MN; and grandchildren, Aviana Robertson (Tommy Hajicek) and Connor and Colton Prieve.
Eloise is preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; brothers, Howard and Burnell Hegg, and sister Arlene Keck.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 7, 2020 at Sharon Lutheran Church in Grand Forks.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service at Amundson Funeral Home in Grand Forks. Visitation will continue the hour prior to the service in the church.
Interment: Memorial Park North Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
