Ellen Ann Krom

Ellen Ann Krom, age 73, passed away peacefully at her home in Grand Forks on March 25, 2025.

Raised in Niagara, ND, Ellen completed her early education before graduating from Larimore High School with the Class of 1970. Her nurturing spirit was evident from a young age. She became a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant at Northwood Nursing Home. A title she loving had for over 23 years, her compassionate heart and unwavering commitment to those in her care made a significant impact on countless lives through her work.

In a celebration of love, Ellen married Donald Krom on April 8, 1988. Together, they welcomed a son, Aaron, forming a family that was the pride and joy of her life. Ellen's love for her family was boundless, and she treasured every moment spent with them.

Ellen is survived by her husband, Donald; two stepchildren, Torry and Travis; two step granddaughters, Surrey and Sierra Krom; sisters, Janet Dubuque and Donna Yoder, as well as many nieces and nephews who will forever remember her kindness and gentle nature.

Ellen was preceded in death by her only son Aaron; parents, Erick and Burdella Hillestad; brother Eugene Hillestad; sister, Carol Tennison and a nephew, David Dubuque. Their memories remained a poignant part of her heart, fueling her strength through life's challenges.

A visitation will be held on April 5, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Amundson Funeral Home, Grand Forks, ND. Following the visitation, a memorial service will take place starting at 1:00 PM, providing an opportunity for all who loved Ellen to gather and celebrate her remarkable life.

Ellen Ann Krom touched the lives of all who knew her, leaving behind a legacy of love, care, and compassion. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered in the hearts of her family, friends, and everyone she encountered throughout her life.
