Elizabeth A Carruth

Elizabeth Ann Carruth, age 51, resident of Grand Forks, ND, died on January 16, 2025, at Altru Hospital as a result of complication from stomach cancer.

Elizabeth “Liz” was born to John and Elaine (Chevalier) Carruth on January 30, 1973, in Benson, MN. She attended school there and graduated from Benson High School and later obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry at North Dakota State University (NDSU).

She enjoyed and valued her career working as a Food Safety and EHS manager for Dakota Dry Bean. She continued to work there until just a few days before her death.

She is survived by her loving husband, Curtis Tanabe; mother, Elaine Carruth; siblings: Johnny (Cindy) Carruth, Tom (Caye) Carruth, Teresa (Bob) Pelkey, Jim (Judy) Carruth, Mike Carruth, Mary (Mark) Branstad, Ann (Rick) Bell, Joe (Jolene) Carruth, Pat (Tammy) Carruth, Bob (Therese) Carruth, Bill (Carol Lee) Carruth, Dick (Kelley) Carruth, Dan Carruth, Cathy Carruth, Laura (Brad) Amundson, Maggie (Jon) Ackman and Marie (Aaron) Knodel; numerous nieces and nephews.
