Eleanor Inez Monsebroten

Eleanor I. Monsebroten, 97 of Grand Forks, North Dakota, died Friday, February 7, 2025, at her home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Eleanor was born on August 4, 1927, the daughter of Edward and Ida (Rundhaug) Monson in Park River, North Dakota. She was raised in rural Park River, where she met the love of her life, Norman Monsebroten. They were married on April 7, 1949. They made their home in rural Park River, where they began to raise their children until they moved to Grand Forks.

Eleanor enjoyed tending to her house plants and cooking for her family, especially the traditional Norwegian meals. Her greatest joy was time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Eleanor is survived by her children, Jeff (Anita) Monsebroten, Nancy (William) Adams, Lyle Monsebroten and Betty (Scott) Otteson; four grandchildren, Nathan (Ashley Santangelo) Ahles, Andy (Marissa) Erickson, Amanda (Drew) Pinkerton and Gabrielle (Joshua Defoe) Ahles; four great grandchildren; brother, Arnold Monson; nieces and nephews.

Eleanor was preceded by parents, husband, Norman Monsebroten, sons, Russell and Ray, daughter, Sally Ahles, grandson Noah Ahles, daughter-in-law, Carol Monsebroten and brother, Manvel Monson.

A private family service will be held. Interment will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery, Park River, ND
