Elaine M. Morris, 76 of Grand Forks, North Dakota, died Thursday, July 27, 2023, at Valley Senior Living, Grand Forks, North Dakota. Visitation will be held from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. Monday, July 31, 2023, at Havig-Heen Auditorium Chapel - Valley Senior Living, Grand Forks, North Dakota followed by a memorial service at 3:00 p.m.
Elaine was born on October 4, 1946, the daughter of Woodrow and Irene (Clark) Geiger in Grafton, North Dakota. She was raised in Backoo, Nrth Dakota where she attended country school and graduated from Cavalier High School in 1964. After high school, Elaine moved to Grand Forks with her best friend Patty Hughes to attend Aaker’s Business College. It wasn't long before she met a handsome young airman, Donald Morris, and they were married on June 26, 1965, in Crookston, Minnesota.
They made their home in various areas, before settling in East Grand Forks, Minnesota in 1977. Elaine worked in the bakery department for thirteen years at Hugo’s in East Grand Forks, until 1989 when she and Donald worked for Hyman Freightways. In 1996, they moved to Williams, Minnesota to become the owners of Too Tall Grocery which they operated until their retirement in 2011 and they settled in Crookston, Minnesota.
Elaine enjoyed reading romance novels, watching lifetime movies, gardening, and a day was not complete unless she and Donald watched the latest episode of Young and the Restless. She was an excellent cook and cherished time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Elaine is survived by her husband, Donald Morris of Grand Forks, ND; daughters, Teresa (Duane) LeTexier of East Grand Forks, MN and Kim (Mark) Baier of Peoria, AZ; four grandchildren, Colton (Amanda Elledge) Barr, Logan (Hannah) LeTexier, LaRae LeTexier and Kylie LeTexier; five great grandchildren, Sawyer and Salem Barr, Remington, Theodore and Dorothy Elaine LeTexier; brother, Gene (Janice) Geiger of Kingston, WA; sister-in-law, Shirley Geiger of Seattle, WA; lifelong BFF, Candy Greenwood of Grand Forks, ND; numerous nieces and nephews.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, infant sister, Cindy Geiger and sister, Nancy Zachariasen, brother, Raymond Geiger and niece, Julie Pavlov.
