Eileen Greer, 90, passed away peacefully on August 6th, 2020 at Bethany Retirement Living on 42nd in Fargo, ND.
Eileen C. Greer was born on November 7, 1929, near Sewal, Iowa, to George and Hattie (McKee) Couchman and sister Norma. She attended grades 1-12 in Sewal and once graduated, attended one year of college in Kanas City.
She married Clell Greer on May 14th, 1949 and they started a family. Linda Diane was born in 1950 and Janet Marie was born in 1954. As a family, they moved around quite a bit, living in Iowa; Omaha, Nebraska; Denver, Colorado; Cheyenne, Wyoming; and back to Iowa.
Eileen was a hard working woman. Over her career, she worked at the Wayne County Courthouse and the Hospital in Corydon, Iowa, and for many years at the Seymour Care Center. Clell was an over the road trucker, so she raised the girls mostly on her own.
In September 2003, Eileen moved to Oslo, Minnesota and enjoyed spending time with Janet, and her family and friends. Some other things Eileen enjoyed doing included sewing, gardening, baking and decorating for holidays.
One of the highlights of family gatherings was knowing Eileen’s goodies would be there. Her cheesecake, brownies and homemade noodles were worth arm wrestling over! Each grandchild received at least one of her homemade blankets, tied together with fuzzies. These blankets have given so much comfort and are a constant reminder of how much Grandma loves us.
Eileen is survived by her grandchildren Donovan Snider of Centerville, IA, Hatti (Derrick) Olson of West Fargo, ND, Lindsay Snider of Centerville, IA, Brandon “BJ” Nice of Minto, ND, Kellie Nice of Erskine, MN, Danny Nice of Fargo and eight great grandchildren.
Those who have passed before her are her parents, George and Hattie; sister, Norma; husband, Clell; and daughters, Linda and Janet.
