Edward James Mayotte Sr. passed away peacefully on January 16, 2025, at Altru Hospital.

Ed was born on August 22, 1944, to Raymond and Bessie Mayotte. Ed was the 5th of 9 children; Ed and his parents and siblings lived in Odanah, Wisconsin. Ed graduated from high school in 1962. He then went on to serve his country in the United States Army from 1962-1965. Ed had six children with his first wife. In 1988 he met his current wife Deana, and they were married in 1994. Together they have two children. Ed retired from the Federal Aviation Administration after 34 years of service. Ed was a lifetime member of the American Legion club and Am Vets also a past member of the Eagles Club. Ed enjoyed going fishing with his buddy Tony and sons Dustin and Cody. Ed enjoyed wood working and doing projects around the house side by side with wife Deana AKA “WE CAN DO IT”. After retirement Ed helped several of his older buddies to doctor appointments and enjoyed spending time with them.

Later in life we spent many hours watching TV and doing jigsaw puzzles.

Ed is survived by his wife Deana; children Edward Mayotte Jr, Thomas Mayotte, Suzette Mayotte (Doll), Brigette (DuWayne) Mayotte, James Mayotte, Dustin (Christina) Mayotte and Cody (Mary) Mayotte; siblings Patrick Mayotte, Michael (Mary Ann) Mayotte and Linda Mayotte. Plus, many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Ed was preceded in death by his son Robert (Bobby) Mayotte, his parents Raymond and Bessie Mayotte, siblings Raymond Mayotte, Warren Mayotte, Douglas Mayotte, Norma Connors and Lois Deragon.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m.  on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at Amundson Funeral Home. Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at Amundson Funeral Home.
