Earl A. Olson, 86, Grand Forks, ND and formerly of Grafton, ND, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2024 at Valley Senior Living in Grand Forks, ND.
Earl Allan Olson was born December 10, 1937 in Nekoma, ND, the son of Edgar and Ethel Olson. He was raised and educated in Milton, ND. Earl worked on the family farm for a time, then moved to Shelby, MT, where he and his mother managed the Glacier Motel. Earl moved to Grafton, ND where he found his wife Norma Kasprick and worked at the Walsh County Courthouse for 30 years before retiring in 2005. In retirement, they moved to Grand Forks and Earl worked part time at Zion United Methodist Church until 2010 when he finally truly retired.
In his younger years, Earl enjoyed snowmobiling, golfIng, bringing his wife and 2 children on vacation, and cheering for the Bison at the NDSU games. During the last few years, he lived at Tufte Manor with his wife and enjoyed socializing and having coffee with his friends. He enjoyed checkers, (he never lost a game!) and loved his card games with Kings in the Corner being his favorite.
Earl married Norma Kasprick on February 17, 1962 in Grafton Lutheran Church. She survives along with son, Michael (Lynn Zueger-Olson) Olson, Vail, CO; and daughter, Sandi Luck (Brad Pederson), Grand Forks; grandchildren, Melissa Kringstad (Andres Sweek), Cole Kringstad (Ashley Hicks), Courtney Olson, Gavin Olson, and Colton Luck (Bobbi); great grandchildren, Nora Sweek, Lottie Kringstad, and Jordy Luck.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, June 6, 2024 at Zion United Methodist Church of Grand Forks. Visitation will be for the hour before the service in the church.
