John Howard Muir, B.S., M.S., Ph.D., 78 years old, Cherokee Village, Arkansas, was born April 9, 1943, to Harry B. Muir and Ada Haddow Muir, of Johnstown, North Dakota, and died June 30, 2021. He married Dorothy (Dory) Lucke on February 2, 1964.
He was the Agronomist for the Firestone Rubber Plantation, in Liberia, West Africa from 1974-1979. He did research for the University of Missouri; then taught soils at Arkansas State University, Jonesboro, Arkansas and did research for the University of Arkansas at the same time.
He is survived by his wife, Dory; son, Jeffrey (Donna) Muir, and grandson, Tanner Muir, of Knoxville, TN. He is also survived by his brother, Ivan (Diane) Muir, of Forest River, ND; sisters Helen (Tom) McDonald, of Rosemount, MN; and Carol Muir, of Johnstown, North Dakota; and by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his dad and mother.
Private burial will take place at Inkster, North Dakota.
