Donald Lee Jackson, 77, passed away on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at his home in Grand Forks, ND, surrounded by his loving family. 

Don was born on February 3, 1944 to Thomas & Ida Jackson in Grand Forks.   Don graduated from East Grand Forks High School on June 1, 1961.

He married Mae Helgoe on July 26, 1969 in Cavalier, ND.  Together they made their home in Grand Forks, raising two children.

Don worked for Bert’s Truck Equipment and then spent 33 years with Border States Electric retiring in 1999. In his retirement he worked a short time at Cabela's.

He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and going to their lake place on Cass Lake. He made many casts fishing for muski's and walked many miles for getting that trophy buck. He was a life long member of the NRA and a member of the East Grand Forks Rod and Gun Club. He was a sprint car racer in his younger years.

Don is survived by his wife, Mae; daughter, Jennifer (Chris) Stokke of Princeton, MN; son, Brian (Rachelle) Jackson of Fargo; grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Connor, Cullen Stokke, Sidnee, (twin granddaughters, Kayla, and Alexis Jackson); sister, Margie (Bill) Davidson of California; numerous nieces and nephews, and caregiver/coffee drinking buddy Ruth Brecke.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 8 siblings.

**Memorials may be directed to Augustana Lutheran Church or the Altru Cancer Center in Don's name.

Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 7 at Augustana Lutheran Church in Grand Forks with visitation from 10-11 a.m. in the church.

Inurnment: Memorial Park Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
