Donald "Don" J. Devine, 79, of Manvel, ND, passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND.

Don was born February 23, 1943, in Grand Forks, ND, the son of Joseph & Sarah (Matylinski) Devine. He grew up on the family farm and graduated from Manvel High School in 1961 as co-valedictorian.

He enlisted with the National Guard and served 4 years before his honorable discharge.

Don married Rita McGurran on November 27, 1964 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Grand Forks. Together they lived in Grand Forks, East Grand Forks and eventually made their home in Manvel, ND, raising 9 children.

He worked as a mechanic with Champion Tune-up for several years and was a plumber for Economy Plumbing from 1976 until his retirement in 2018.

Don enjoyed gardening, fishing, old tractors and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Rita; children, Michelle Lindquist (Rory), Robert Devine, Patrick Devine (Deanna), Joseph Devine (Adria), Jeremy Devine(Angela), Darrin Devine(Teresa), John Devine (Krystal Kuehnel), Matt Devine (Krista Gilles) and Eric Devine (Lindsey); siblings, Allen “Bud” Devine, Shirley Derrick, Wayne Devine (Theresa) and Mary Jo Devine; 19 grandchildren, Cassandra, Nicholas, Amanda, Jake, Sarah, Thomas, Flint, David, Hannah, Emma, Taylor, Drew, Cullen, Zachary, Kaylee: Addison, Rose, Ava and Greta and 1 great-grandson, Bram and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; infant twin daughters, Mary & Martha; sister in law Joyce Devine and brother-in-law Richard Derrick.

Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 25 at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church in Manvel with visitation from 10-11 a.m. prior to the Mass in the church.

Interment with military honors: Later spring, St. Timothy's Cemetery, Manvel, ND.
