Delores H. Bader, 89, of Grand Forks, ND, passed away on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Sanford Hospital on Broadway in Fargo, ND.
Delores was born July 19, 1931, the daughter of Jacob and Magdalena (Schock) Wolf. She graduated from Elgin High School in 1949. After graduation, she moved to Bismarck where she worked as a clerk typist for the Corps of Engineers.
Delores married Meinhardt “Mike” Bader on April 18, 1954 in Elgin, ND. Mike was in the US Air Force and because of his assignments, they lived in Columbus, OH, and Morocco, Africa. In 1961 they moved to Grand Forks and raised their two boys, Michael and Keith.
Delores earned her B.S. in Education from the University of North Dakota in 1975 and worked as a librarian assistant at Belmont Elementary School for many years, retiring in 1991.
Delores enjoyed needlework, crocheting, baking, and playing piano. She was active in her church, loved music and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a devoted wife to her husband, a loving mother to her sons, and the best grandmother ever to her grandchildren. Faith, family, and friends were the most important things to Delores. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by sons, Michael (Mary) Bader, Perham, MN, Keith (Karen) Bader, Modesto, CA; sister: Alverna (Clarence) Vietz of Bismarck; brother, Rudy (Mary) Wolf of Bismarck; and five grandchildren: Kenneth, Steven, Lauren, Catherine, and David; 5 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Jim Ulrich of Elgin, ND; sister-in-law, Sharron Wolf, Detroit Lakes, MN, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Meinhardt; sisters, Lorraine Weikum, Leona Ulrich, Bernice Thompson, Bernetta Tietz, Luella Baesler, Darlene Nagel; brother, Jacob Wolf; brothers-in-law, Paul Weikum, Lewis Thompson, Clarence Tietz, Richard Baesler, and Robert Nagel.
Funeral services will be Thursday, May 13, at 1:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service at Calvary Lutheran Church in Grand Forks.
Interment will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 14 in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND.
