Delmer Alfred Knudson made his journey to Heaven on Wednesday, May 12^th at the age of 88. Delmer was born near Larimore, North Dakota on May 1^st, 1933 to Melvin and Wilhelmina (Minnie - Schulz) Knudson, the oldest of a family of five children. On January 17, 1954, he married Lyla Nelson at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Grand Forks, and they began their life together that would span 67 years. Delmer was a hard worker spending his longest employment of 36 years as a truck mechanic at Red River Ford in East Grand Forks, MN. In 1995, Delmer retired and shortly thereafter, they moved to their Cass Lake home where they lived until 2016. That Summer, they moved to their current home in Moorhead.

Delmer is survived by his wife Lyla, his children: Dean (Sue), Randy (Barb), Terry (Pam), and Wendy (Terry). His grandchildren: Desiree (Todd) Wilcox, Tina (Justin) Docken, Alison (Bobby) Perez, Andrew (Theresa) Knudson, Michael (Kelsey) Johnson, Adam Johnson and step grandchildren: Kristi (Timothy) Buck and Amy Halldorson. Also surviving are eleven great grandchildren and eight step grandchildren. Also surviving are Delmer’s brother Ron (Sandra) Knudson, sister Colleen Shaskin, sister-in-laws Cindy Knudson, Alta Hallof, Lauraine Troftgruben, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Delmer was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Minnie, his sister, Joann Kessler, his brother, Arlo Knudson, brother in laws, Roy and JD Nelson, and sister-in-laws Hazel Dammen, Norma Vaule, and Donna Nyland.

Services will be held at Amundson Funeral Home at 2 PM on Tuesday, May 18^th with visitation 1 hour before.
