Dawn Hendrickson

Dawn Marie (Gilbertson) Hendrickson, 42, of Grand Forks, passed away unexpectedly at Altru Hospital on February 11th, 2023, surrounded by her family.

Dawn was born January 29th, 1981 to Dean and DaLinda Gilbertson in Grand Forks, ND, the second born of five children. She graduated from Central High School, class of 1999. Dawn worked for BNSF as a yardmaster since 2004. Dawn had 5 beautiful children, that she loved dearly. In 2013 she married Jon Hendrickson and gained 2 step-children.

Dawn enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards, watching reality shows and going to the casino.

Dawn is preceded in death by her grandfather Donald Gilbertson; her grandparents Loren, and Linda Hurtt; and her in-laws John and Lois Hendrickson.

Dawn is survived by her parents Dean and DaLinda Gilbertson, her husband Jon Hendrickson, children Taylor (22), Austin (16), Cassie (14), Brooke (14), and Brady (12) Woods; 2 step children Anna (23) and Abby (21); brothers Chad Gilbertson and Matt (Alissa) Gilbertson; sisters Brittney (Anthony) Church, Breann (Benny) Curran, a half-sister Cristy (Manuel) Moreno, and her grandmother Margaret Gilbertson as well as beloved a niece,  nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday, February 16, 2023 from 5 to 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Amundson Funeral Home. 

Memorial service will be held Friday, February 17, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Amundson Funeral Home. Visitation will continue 1 hour prior to the start of the service.
