David Ralph Smith, age 91, was born June 1, 1931, in Joliette, ND.  David passed to glory December 16, 2022, of natural causes, at Northwood Deaconess Health Center Nursing Home.   David was the son of Ralph and Sarah (Dahlquist) Smith.

David graduated High School at Joliette, ND, and then attended bible college at Trinity Bible College in Ellendale ND and Northwestern Bible College in Bothell WA.   David was ordained in the Assemblies of God denomination and served as a pastor in several ND and MN congregations.  He was also a farmer and owned a trucking business.

David was united in marriage with Korinne Leatrice Korsmo July 9, 1955.  They had three children Lynette (Cariveau), Daniel Smith, and Karen (Herting). After Korinne’s passing David was married to Lois Harstad.

David was predeceased by Ralph and Sarah, Korinne (wife), Flora McFarland (sister), and Lois (wife). 

He is survived by his children Lynette (Pierre) Cariveau, Daniel (Diane) Smith, Karen (Maynard) Herting; his siblings Irene Edwards, Harvey (Marta) Smith, Sarah (John) Graves, Grace (Alan) Bekkerus, Martin (Shiela) Smith, and Norma (Tom) Anderson. 

David has six Grandchildren: Jonathan Cariveau, Jennifer (Smith) Sullivan-May, Christine (Smith) Wylot, Daniel R. Smith, Andrew Herting, and Kjersten (Herting) Davis.  He also has eleven Great grandchildren and three Great Great grandchildren.  

Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at Amundson Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the start of the service.
Burial will be held later in the spring.
