David was born December 25, 1952, in Grand Forks, the son of Carlton and Blenda (Kvamme) Hendrickson. He grew up and attended school in Hoople. In July of 1971, Dave joined the United States Marines where he proudly served until his honorable discharge in January of 1977. Dave had a lifelong passion with fishing. He was a professional angler, sponsored by MEPPS, for over 10 years and competed in many fishing tournaments. He was also very proud of the multiple fishing articles he wrote and published. He was always able to catch the fish that got away from so many other fishermen. Dave was the co-owner of Glass Pros from 1997 until his retirement in 2019. On January 26, 2006, David married Julie Ripplinger in Crookston, Minnesota. Together, they loved to go camping on the weekends, until they found their beautiful lake home on Lake Andrusia in Bemidji which they owned for 13 years. Dave enjoyed boating to the connecting lakes, fishing, making memories with the grandkids, and relaxing. He also looked forward to traveling to Lake Gogebic a couple times a year to go fishing with his son and grandsons. Dave was also an animal lover, he loved to watch the deer in the yard and around the lake home, enjoyed bird watching, and sponsored many different animals at the Grand Forks Humane Society through the years making sure they had supplies. David is survived by his wife Julie, children: Chris Hendrickson, Craig (Melaine) Hendrickson; stepchildren: Brent Dudgeon (Bety Villagomez), Janelle (Jamey) Corbit; grandchildren: Seth Hendrickson, Sean Hendrickson, Harley Hendrickson, Damian Dudgeon, Addilyn Corbit, Harper Corbit, Sawyer Corbit; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will be held Thursday, September 29, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Amundson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the start of the service. Burial will be held in Middle Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Grand Forks Humane Society.
