Dagney M. Tweten

Dagney M. Tweten, 101, Grand Forks, ND, passed away Monday, September 9, 2024 at Valley Senior Living on 42nd in Grand Forks.

Dagney Marie Gilbertson was born April 2, 1923 in rural Mentor, MN, the daughter of Anton and Anna (Johnson) Gilbertson. She was baptized and confirmed at Rodgnes Lutheran Church in rural Erskine, MN. She graduated from Mentor High School. After graduation, she moved to Grand Forks, ND to attend Aaker’s Business College. She worked for several businesses before working for AGSCO for more than 25 years.

On June 15, 1946, she married Otis Tweten. They were blessed with two daughters, Cheryl Ann and Judy Kay.

Dagney was an active member of United Lutheran Church in Grand Forks.

Family members include her daughters, Cheryl Ann (William) Zasoski, Grand Forks, ND, and Judy Kay (Cordy) Tharp, Pineville, LA; grandchildren, Matthew (Elizabeth) Zasoski, Sauk Rapids, MN, Michael (Amy) Zasoski, Lonsdale, MN, Charles (Brandi) Tharp, Pineville, LA, Shannon (Corbett) Dickerson, LoLo, MT, Kristin (Jared) Jones, Cinnaminson, NJ; great grandchildren, Caroline and Nicholas Zasoski, and Johanna Zasoski, Sydney, Kendall, Conner and Mckenzie Tharp, Dax Dickerson; and many nieces and nephews.

Dagney was preceded in death by her husband, Otis on June 11, 1985; by sisters, Margaret Moe and Judith Lind; brothers, Norman and Harold Gilbertson.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, September 21, 2024 at United Lutheran Church of Grand Forks. Visitation will be for one hour before the service in the church. Burial will be in Memorial Park North Cemetery, Grand Forks.
