Cory J. Anderson

January 4, 1979 — July 23, 2022

Cory Jared Anderson, 43, of Grand Forks, ND, passed away on July 23rd at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

Cory Jared Anderson was born in Grand Forks, ND, on January 4, 1979, to Lee (Delmaire) and Dan Anderson. Cory grew up in Grand Forks and graduated from Red River High School in 1997. He furthered his education at Northland Community & Technical College graduating with an associate’s degree in para medicine. Upon completing his degree, Cory moved to Denver and began an EMT career. After 09/11, he enlisted in the US Air Force and was stationed at Yokota AFB in Japan, where he served as a medic. Upon returning to the United States, Cory served as a drill sergeant at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, TX, and later, as a medic at the Grand Forks AFB. In 2012, Cory served as a medic during his tour of duty in Afghanistan. After his retirement from the military, Cory remained in Grand Forks and started his own contracting business. At the time of his death, Cory was working at ABRA Auto Body Repair.

Cory was a Harley Davidson man. He belonged to the Forever United Motorcycle Club. The club’s main goals are to be family oriented and to teach others how to get on their bikes and enjoy the country. In addition to riding and collecting motorcycles, Cory was passionate about the military, his truck, painting cars, and trying to convince everyone that he was a “mamma’s boy.”

Cory had a big heart and loved his family. He was a proud uncle who had a special relationship with his nephews and was a strong presence in their lives. They referred to him as a “funcle” (fun uncle). He was an animated story teller with a boisterous personality and a contagious laugh.

In life, Cory was passionate about his work as an EMT and a medic. When he was active-duty air force, his career choice was as a medic saving lives. Now God has asked him to save lives again; he has done that by donating his organs.

Cory is survived by his mother and father; fiancé, Marlee Louden; brothers, Brett (Rhonda) Anderson, Grand Forks, ND, and Troy (Jacinda) Anderson, Castle Rock, CO; niece, Kaylee Anderson, Grand Forks, ND; nephews, Jordan and Brandon Anderson, Grand Forks, ND, and Deacon and Cooper Anderson, Castle Rock, CO; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Cory was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Doris Delmaire, and Forrest and Elizabeth Anderson; and his cousin, Andrea (Vingelen) Fagley.
