Constance M. “Connie” Lowe, 71, Grand Forks, ND, died Thursday, February 14, 2019 at Altru Hospital of Grand Forks after a courageous battle with cancer.
Connie Marie Lowe was born July 5, 1947 in Grand Forks, the daughter of Bert and Clara (Weirson) Johnson. She was raised in Grand Forks and graduated from Central High School in 1965.
Connie married the love of her life, Duane Lowe on June 14, 1967 in Grand Forks. They moved to Charlotte, MI and later returned to Grand Forks where Connie was employed in retail sales at Sears for 27 years until her retirement. She was a volunteer for Altru Hospice and at Camp Good Morning.
Connie was deeply devoted to her family, and she loved family gatherings. She cared enormously for others, and was always the one to light up the room with her laughter. She had a zest for life and a heart full of grace and love for everyone. She had a listening and understanding ear, a purse full of treats to share, a gentle loving heart to listen that made you feel right at home.
Survivors include her husband, Duane, Grand Forks; daughter, Sara (Matt) Mutzenberger, Grand Forks; grandchildren, Jake Mutzenberger, Luke (Ashlee Jeffrey) Mutzenberger, and Wyatt Mutzenberger; great grandchild, Jaxon Mutzenberger; sisters-in-law’s: Mavis (Bruce) Swart (Kokomo, IN), Joan Johnson (Crookston,MN), Gloria Johnson (Moorhead, MN), Merna Johnson (Philippines) Brother-in-law: Dexter Bracy (Portland, MI), and many nieces and nephews.
Connie was preceded in death by her daughter, Kristi Lowe; her parents; and by siblings, Bob, Roger, Molly, Jerry, and Jim.
Celebration of Life will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Calvary Lutheran Church of Grand Forks. There will be a time for sharing and reminiscing one hour before the funeral.
