Clarence R. Walski, 86, Grand Forks, ND, died Saturday, November 17, 2018 in Altru Hospital of Grand Forks.
Clarence Robert Walski was born June 30, 1932 in Oslo, MN to John and Helen
(Czapiewski) Walski. He attended rural schools in Walshville Township.
Clarence was drafted to serve his country in 1953 and was sent to Hokkaido,
Japan with the 1st CAV Division 99th F.A.B. He was chosen outstanding soldier of
the month in May of 1954. He was awarded a trophy by Brig. General Troxel, he
received an honorable discharge on Feb. 5, 1955
On June 6, 1956 he married Johanna Paschke at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Warsaw, ND. The couple lived and farmed in Walshville Township. Clarence retired from farming in 1994. They continued to live on the farm where they raised their five
children until they moved to Grand Forks in 2010.
Clarence served on the advisory board of St. Stanislaus Church, The Walshville
School Board, Cenex Board of Directors, Oslo, Mn, and was Polka Lovers Klub of America Treas.
Clarence is survived by his wife Johanna; daughters, Catherine (Henry) Hatt and
Carolyn (Chuck) Keller; sons, Joel (Melissa) Walski and Jude; daughter-in-law,
Laurie, 10 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and sister Carol (Tim) Curtin.
He was was preceded in death by his parents; son, John; grandson, Christopher;
and sister, Clarice (Robert) Robinson.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be 11:30 AM Friday, November 23, 2018 in Holy Family Catholic Church of Grand Forks. Visitation will be Friday from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 PM in the church. Burial will be in the St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Warsaw, ND. Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #157, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3817 and the North Dakota Army National Guard.
