Claire L. (Wolden) Johnson, 90, of Grand Forks, formerly of Buxton, Inkster & Mayville, died peacefully at Valley Senior Living on Sunday, June 12, 2022. 

Claire was born on the family farm near Mayville on January 25, 1932. After spending her youthful years in Mayville, she married Allan Johnson on June 11, 1951.  In the late 1950’s Claire & Allan settled on the Ryan Farm near Inkster, where Allan was the General Manager for about 40 years.  Though she had a few part time jobs over the years, Claire devoted her time and love to caring for Allan, along with her 4 boys, which brought her great pride and joy. Her endless generosity, kindness and hospitality was enjoyed by so many over all the years.

Upon leaving Inkster in the mid 1990’s, Claire and Allan moved to Buxton, where Allan preceded Claire in death in 1999.   In 2015, Claire moved to Grand Forks.

Claire is survived by her 4 sons, Greg (Edith) Johnson, Gilby, Mike (Debbie) Johnson, Grand Forks, Bruce (Karen) Johnson, Grand Forks and Robert, Phoenix; 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren & 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Joanne (Pat) Finstrom, Grand Forks; sisters in law, Jackie Hegstad, Scottsdale, Grace Wolden, Mayville, and Lois Peterson, Mekinock & many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Allan; brothers Kermit and Milton; sisters, Viola and Lois and grandson, Kevin Johnson.

Claire will be dearly missed, by so many.

Visitation will be on Thursday, June 16, 2022, from 1:30-2:30 pm, with a funeral service following at 2:30 pm, at Amundson Funeral Home in Grand Forks.

Family graveside service will directly follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Buxton.
