Christa Lee Schneider, 43 of Thompson, North Dakota passed away unexpectedly Monday, February 3, 2025, at Altru Hospital ICU surrounded by her loving family and friends.

Christa was welcomed into this life on August 10, 1981, to her loving parents, Michael and Melanee Horken in Grand Forks, North Dakota.After graduating from East Grand Forks High School, Christa attended Mayville State University graduating with honors with a degree in Elementary Education. Christa loved teaching her kids at Thompson Elementary School, and they adored her.

Christa married the love of her life, Cullen Schneider on August 6, 2005, and they welcomed two sons, Hunter Michael on October 16, 2008, and Jace Brian on June 26, 2014. The boys were her pride and joy, and they made their family one of joy and excitement. Christa’s passions were reading, gardening, baking with her boys and being a foster dog momma. We never knew just how many of her foster dogs would become permanent members of her family. She would have kept them all if she could.

Christa will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 19 years, Cullen; her boys, Hunter and Jace; parents, Mike and Melanee Horken; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Brian and Karen Schneider; sister, Sarah (Scott) Palmer; brother-in-law, Wade Schneider and her many aunts, uncles, cousins and her dear friends that meant the world to her.

 Christa was preceded in death by her grandparents, George and Geri Watkins, Arnold and Margaret Horken, aunts, Sandy Warren and Charlotte Lilly, uncle Darrell Lilly and cousin, Scott Warren.Visitation will be held from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. Sunday, February 9, 2025, at Thompson Elementary School, Thompson, ND in the new gymnasium. Christa's Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, February 9, 2025, at Thompson Elementary School, Thompson, ND in the new gymnasium. Please wear your favorite NFL Team clothing in memory of Christa for her love of the game and with it being Super Bowl Sunday. Green Bay Packer clothing is preferred!

In lieu of flowers her family requests donations be made to Journey Home Animal Rescue https://www.journeyhomeanimalrescue.org/donate or Christa Schneider Legacy of Learning Fund at Thompson Elementary School.
