Carmen Bohlman

February 15, 1933 — March 21, 2022

Carmen Lee (Larson) Bohlman, 89, of Thompson, ND passed away Monday, March 21st, 2022, at Valley Senior Living on Columbia in Grand Forks surrounded by her loving family.

Carmen was born February 15, 1933, in Grand Forks, ND.  She was the daughter of Ben and Tilda (Tweten) Larson. She graduated from Reynolds High School.

Carmen married Lloyd J. Bohlman on September 8th, 1952.  Lloyd and Carmen settled on the family farm and raised their family in Thompson, ND.  Carmen was a devoted farm wife.  She was a woman of many talents. She kept a meticulous home along with providing her family with many delicious meals and assorted goodies. 

Carmen had many interests and hobbies.  She was an active member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, holding many positions from Sunday school teacher to WELCA president.  Her faith was important to her, and she strived to love and serve her family, church, and community. She was involved in 4H and the American Legion Auxiliary also.  Carmen loved to bake, walk, garden, and decorate.  Most importantly, Carmen loved her family above all else.  Family gatherings at her home always guaranteed a full stomach and lots of laughter.  She was so proud of every child, grandchild, and great-grandchild.  She always let each one know how special they were with a warm hug or sweet comment. 

Carmen is survived by her children; Craig (Debbie) Bohlman, Randy (Becky) Bohlman, Jane (Scott) Morgan, Laurie (Mark) Yutrzenka, John (Robyn) Bohlman. Grandchildren; Nicholas (Trinity) Bohlman, Adam Bohlman, Ben (Lindsey) Bohlman, Stephanie (Travis) Anderson, Christopher (Amanda) Bohlman, LeeAnn Novak, Holly Morgan, Emily (Luke) Wells, Allison (Tanner) Smedshammer, Bryce Yutrzenka, Danika (Kyle) Sundby, Mattie Yutrzenka, Samantha (Dj) Jallo, Megan Bohlman, Jordyn Bohlman. 21 great grandchildren, her sister, Beverly Beaver, sister-in-law, Lois Hansen, brother-in-law, Neil Block, and special friend Jim Weber. 

Carmen is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Lloyd, father-in-law, and mother-in-law, Jack and Tillie Bohlman, brother, Henry and sister-in-law Ona Mae Larson, sister, Maxine Block, brother-in-law, Don Hansen, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dale and Norma Bohlman.

Funeral service will be held Friday, March 25, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, Thompson, ND.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 24, 2022, from 5 to 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Amundson Funeral Home, Grand Forks.
