Calvin Shortridge, 97, of Grand Forks, ND, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2021, at Valley Senior Living on 42nd Woodside Village.

Calvin was born December 12, 1924, to Wesley and Nancy (Bloomquist) Shortridge. He attended his 12 years of school in Grey Consolated School graduating in 1942. He then attended NDSU winter courses for 4 years.

Calvin served in the US Army during World War II and was honorably discharged.

He married Cyrilla Schneider on April 14, 1951, in Fargo, ND.

Calvin was a lifelong farmer in Grey Township near rural Calvin, ND. Once he retired, they moved to Grand Forks fall of 1990.

He served on County FHA Board, 40 years Grey Township clerk, 15 years Grey Squirrel 4-H leader. He was a member of the Grey Community Church then Glenila Presbyterian church in Calvin, ND

Calvin is survived by his wife, Cyrilla; children, Alan (Linda) Shortridge, Payson, AZ; Gwen Kobbervig, Woodbury, MN; Dean (Elizabeth) Shortridge; Pagosa Springs, CO; Lona Scott, Bemidji, MN; grandchildren, Timothy Shortridge; Briana Como; Jody, Kaley, Corey Kobbervig; Jarrod, Jennifer, Isabella Shortridge; Jazmin, Brady Scott; 2 step-grandchildren, Christina, Jonathan Savage; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Jack (Daunine), Littleton, CO; sisters, Donna Kingzett, Munich, ND and Joanne Haug, Golden Valley, MN, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Russell Shortridge; sisters, Alayne Shortridge & Alice Olson; grandson, Jon Shortridge and several brothers/sisters-in-laws.

Memorial Services: 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 13 at Faith Evangelical Free Church of Grand Forks, with visitation from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service in the church.

Inurnment with military honors will be at Memorial Park South, Grand Forks, ND.

A full luncheon/fellowship will follow the burial and everyone is welcome.
