Brian Craig Galegher passed away April 30, 2019 at his home in Thompson, ND. He was born November 10th, 1952 to Edward (Ned) and Delores (Freeman) Galegher in Grand Forks, ND.
Brian grew up in Thompson and attended school there. He worked for various farmers in the area and loved the land he worked on.
He married Lola Blazer and to this union a daughter, Randi, was born.
He worked for a time in California, before moving to Alaska, the place he felt was home. He married Irene Ferguson in 2008 and they made their home in Chugiak, AK. He worked for Carlile Trucking in Anchorage for many years until his health prevented him. Brian moved back to Thompson 4 years ago where he resided until his death.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
He is survived by his wife Irene and her son, Rian, of Chugiak, AK, daughter, Randi and granddaughter, Hannah of Minot, ND, brother Kerry Galegher, of Keller, Texas, sisters Kathy (Ron) Klang, Watford City, ND Janie (Rick) Clow, Grand Forks, ND, stepfather, Joe (Sue) Simon, Thompson, ND and nieces and nephews.
Honoring Brian’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held. His ashes will be scattered in Alaska, the land he loved so dearly, by his siblings and daughter at a later date.
Brian will be remembered as a man who had a soft spot for animals and brought home every stray cat, dog or person that didn’t have a place of their own.
