Beverly Ann Kearney was born April 16, 1946, in Grafton, North Dakota. She was the fifth of six children of Donald and Clara (Motroen) Kearney. Beverly was baptized and confirmed into Christ at the Grafton Lutheran Church. She attended Grafton High School and later furthered her education at the North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton where she earned her Associate's Degree in Health Occupation. She dedicated over 45 years to providing care and working in various healthcare facilities as a Program Director.
In 1964, she was united in marriage to Steve Scheinost for nearly 20 years. Together they were blessed with two daughters who they raised together in Grafton. During this time, Beverly and Steve were devoted members of the Valley Ambulance and Rescue Service.
One Sunday morning after church, Harry Brown introduced himself to Beverly and invited her to breakfast. On September 7, 1985, they were united in marriage at the Grand Forks Air Force Base. Little did they know that breakfast would turn into a marriage that would last almost 40 years. Beverly was a supportive Air Force wife and moved with Harry; they returned to Grand Forks in 1993, after Harry’s retirement.
Beverly had a talent for making crafts, which eventually led to her owning a craft store and traveling across the state to participate in craft fairs. She loved baking for her family and making every holiday and birthday special. Beverly deeply loved her family and made them her world; she always saw the good in everyone.
Beverly is survived by her husband, Harry Brown of Grand Forks, ND; daughters, Sharon (Gregg) Sondeland of Edinburg, ND, and Susie (Jay) Simpfenderfer of Fargo, ND; grandchildren, Sara (David) Miller, Savanna (Kevin) Landeis, and Noah Simpfenderfer; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Kailee, and Jaxon Miller, Kaleb and Paislee Landeis, and Aubree Christinson; siblings, Jan (Dennis) Huber of Pamona, CA, David (Pat) Kearney of Los Altos, CA, Bob (Marcia Olson) Kearney of Sun City, AZ, and Debbie (Tim) Pederson of Puyallup, WA; sister-in-law, Judy Kearney of Glendale, CA; and many other family members and friends.
