Betty E Fortier

Betty E. (Vigness) Fortier, 90, of Mesa, AZ formerly from Grand Forks, ND, passed away on July 24th, 2021 at Alta Mesa Health and Rehabilitation in Mesa, AZ. Visitation and Memorial service will be held August 6th, 2021 at Amundson Funeral home, 2975 South 42nd Street Grand Forks, ND 58208. Visitation will be held 12 pm with service at 1 pm. Burial will follow immediately after the service at St Petri Cemetery in Nielsville, MN. 

Betty loved to dance, play putt putt golf, play bingo and listen to country western music in her spare time. She moved to Mesa, AZ in the fall of 1997 to enjoy the warmer weather. She continued working many different jobs before she found her love as a caregiver/personal care attendant in Mesa, AZ. Betty officially retired at 88 years old after a severe car accident. She loved her kids, and her grandchildren were her joy. 

Betty is survived by her sister Jean Thorson; children: Kristine Votava, Kevin (Deborah) Haugstad and Kim (Tina) Haugstad; grandchildren - Kati, Nicole, Desiree, Matthew, Jacob, Elizabeth and Cody; great grandchildren - Gracey, Paisley, Mason, Hunter and Myles. 

Betty is preceded in death by her parents Oscar and Olga Vigness; brothers, Leo and Palmer Vigness; husband, Ervin Haugstad and son, Kurt Haugstad.
