Betty J. Dalzell, 76, Grand Forks, died Friday, February 15, 2019 at Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, North Dakota.
Betty Jean Romfo was born October 1, 1942 in Langdon, ND to Clarence and Mildred Romfo. Betty grew up on a farm in Vang, ND. She attended school at Vang and graduated from Walhalla High School.
On June 24, 1961 she was united in marriage to Delton Dalzell at Vang Lutheran Church. They moved to East Grand Forks, MN and later to Grand Forks where they made their home. Betty attended Aakers Business College in Grand Forks while Delton was working in Watford City at B&H Body Shop.
In 1983 Delton and Betty opened Del’s Body Shop in Grand Forks which they operated until they retired in March, 2000. Delton passed away July 2001. Betty then started volunteering at St. Vincent De Paul in Grand Forks and was active in other community events. Betty enjoyed reading, traveling, visiting, and spending time with family and friends. She was a very cordial host and opened her home to friends and family alike. She loved hosting family gatherings and she was always willing to help others if they needed something.
She is survived by her 3 sons, Kelly (Mary), Fargo, ND, Lee, Fargo, ND, Marty (Alicia), Devils Lake, ND; 4 grandchildren, Amanda, Joseph, Brandon, and Carson; 8 great grandchildren; 2 siblings, Eileen (Leslie) Welsh, and Raymond (Vicki) Romfo; sisters-in-law, Joyce Romfo, and Connie Martineau.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Mildred; husband Delton; a son, Jerry; and a brother, Gary.
She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and pets as well, who were very fond of Betty.
