Mary Elizabeth “Beth” Boemann died peacefully in her home on August 9 following a graceful battle with Parkinson’s. Beth was born April 8, 1935 to Herschel and Margaret (Bertrand) Cartwright. Beth graduated from Cando High School in 1954. She married Robert T. Boemann on September 1, 1954. From this union, Cynthia Boemann and Scott Boemann were born. Beth took pride in caring for her family. She was affectionately known as “Auntie Beth” hosting many athletes for athletic camps and following their many events. She loved to attend her grandchildren’s activities. In her later years, she was active in the Parkinson’s Support Group, exercise group and the Unforgettables Choir. Beth loved all things glitzy and red. Beth had a beautiful voice. She will be fondly remembered by many.
In addition to her parents, Beth was preceded in death by her husband Robert and her brothers Gary and James. She is survived by her daughter Cynthia Boemann and son Scott (Kerrie) Boemann, sister Ruthann (Donald) Nielsen, sister-in-law Virginia Cartwright; grandchildren Erika Gustafson, Kai Gustafson, Brandon (Emily) Boemann, Shelby Boemann; great grandchildren Kia Phillips and Aria Boemann; nieces Tanja (Bob) Brown and Sarah Nielsen; nephews Ryan (Jessica) Nielsen, Brad (Maggie) Cartwright, Nolan (Chelsea) Cartwright; great nieces Annie Nielsen and Amy Nielsen; great nephew Brady Brown; fur baby Annabelle, and many special friends.
The service of remembrance or mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Grand Forks. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the mass at the church. Interment will follow in Calvary North Cemetery, Grand Forks. Those who wish to remember Beth in a special way may make gifts in her memory to the Parkinson’s group at the YMCA 215 N 7th St. Grand Forks, ND 58203.
