Bernice M. Narum, 87, Grand Forks ND, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2024, at Altru Hospital.

Bernice was born February 2, 1937, on the family farmstead, rural Conway, ND to Charles L. Novak and Sophie (Greicar) Novak. In 1957 she married Merle Hendrickson in Pisek, ND. Together they had three children, David, Kathie and Jana. Merle died in February 1974. Bernice married Peyton “Skip” Narum in Grand Forks in 1975 and he inherited three teenagers.

She is survived by her husband, Skip; her children,  David Hendrickson, Kathie (Todd) Johnson, Jana (Ray) Denault;  two grandchildren, Jennifer (Eric) Smith, Justin (Shelby) Denault and great grandchildren Macey and Braden Smith and Knox Raywalt.

She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter-in-law Jani Hendrickson and her father-in-law, and mother-in-law,  Orvall and LaNeva Narum.

Bernice’s strength and kindness will forever live in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Altru Cancer Center

A celebration of life will be 2:30 PM Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks. Visitation will be for the hour before the service in the funeral home. Interment will be in Silvesta Cemetery, Fairdale, ND, at a future date.
