Belle Marie Jore

Belle M Jore, 89, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2024, in Altru Hospital.

Belle was born September 7, 1934, the daughter of Guy and Henretta (Woods) Ohls, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Her family moved to Sasakwa, Oklahoma where she grew up. They later moved to Forth Worth, Texas where she graduated from High School.

Belle met Thelmer Jore in Ft. Worth, Texas and they were married October 3, 1951. They were married for 72 years. Thelmer was a US Air Force service member, and they moved around the country before moving to Grand Forks, North Dakota where Thelmer and Belle retired. Belle worked as a Civil Servant Administrative Manager, working at the Grand Forks Air Force Base before her retirement in September of 1994. In each position Belle held, she received superior and outstanding recognition with many awards and accolades.

She liked to paint, travel, crochet and spending time with her family. They wintered in McAllen, Texas for many years where Belle made many friends.

Belle is survived by her husband Thelmer, children: Jeanie (Dennis) McDowell, Detroit (Clinton Township), MI, William (Terri) Jore, West Fargo, ND, Kenneth (Jill) Jore, Grand Forks, ND; 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Sharon Lutheran Church, on Monday, August 26, 2024. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the start of the service. Burial will be held in Memorial Park South Cemetery, Grand Forks.
