Audrey was born in Superior Wisconsin where she graduated from Superior High School and then worked as a drug store clerk for several years. Audrey married in 1967 at which time she and her husband traveled to Alaska, where they chose to live for several years. After leaving Alaska, Audrey and her husband lived in Hibbing MN where Audrey helped raise an orphaned fawn, a story which was later published as a book. Audrey moved to Grand Forks in 1998 to be closer to family, and developed many long term friendships.
Audrey loved being outdoors, and could be found most anytime tending flower beds, walking her dog or visiting with others. Audrey loved animals and her dog, Jasper was always by her side. Audrey fed birds and squirrels around her apartment building and enjoyed watching them play. Audrey's favorite past times included playing slot machines at the casino, walking, listening to music and watching movies. She loved to have fun and laughed often.
Audrey was preceded in death by her mother Edith Sanders, step father Fritz Sanders (both from Superior WI), sisters Betty Gould (Phillips, WI) and Alice Christenson (Grand Forks) and brother in law Thomas Christenson (Grand Forks). She is survived by her niece Tammy Christenson (Grand Forks). Audrey will be missed by family friends Brenda Tufte, who always made Audrey laugh and Hunter Tufte.
In lieu of flowers Audrey would enjoy knowing donations in her name are made to Circle of Friends Humane Society.
