Anna Maria Erickson, 93, of Grand Forks, passed away April 23, at the Gracewood Memory Care, Hugo, MN. She was born August 21, 1926, in Flora, ND to George and Evelyn Lamen Vallier. Anna graduated from high school at Benson County Agricultural and Training School in Maddock, ND in 1944. She went on to New York Hairdressing Academy in Fargo and received her cosmetology license. She moved to Devils Lake, ND and worked at several different salons. She met Phil Erickson and they were married August 21, 1949 in Flora, North Dakota. They lived in Williston for awhile and finally ended up in Grand Forks.
Anna was a very active long time member of United Lutheran Church, in Grand Forks. She helped with many different functions at the church. She was a founding member of the Wednesday morning Prayer and Share group. She was active in the Alzheimers Support Group at the state level. She took care of her husband, Phil, for many years at home.
She is survived by her son, Lee Erickson, Stillwater, MN. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her 2 brothers Clifford, his wife Veloy, Gerald, his wife Joyce, and her 2 sisters Lucille, her husband Rickard, Georgine, her husband Allan.
Private graveside services were held in Memorial Park South Cemetery in Grand Forks. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
