Andrew L. Terry (Andy) was born in Parkers Prairie, Minnesota, December 13, 1927, the second son of Frank Terry and Annie (Krenz) Terry. At age 15, he made his way to North Dakota to look for work. He found it while drinking coffee in a little café. Some things never change!
He married Lillie May Bulkley, now deceased, on March 30, 1952. Their three children are Lyle Bernerd Terry, now deceased, Peggy Terry Lane, and Tony James Terry. Four grandchildren and two great grandchildren have graced their lives: Lisa Lane Rabe, Sarah Lane Carroll, David Terry and Jonathan Terry, and Andy Rabe and Lillianna Rabe.
One of Andy’s brothers has survived him, Alvin (Bing) Terry of Bismarck, North Dakota. Brothers Arvid (Boots), Gordon (Gordy), Henry (Hank), Melvin (Mick) and sister Eunice (Sis) Botz have all gone to be with the Lord. He has a bouquet of nieces and nephews and their families he loved and valued.
Andy was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. Bell Telephone employed him for 32 years as lineman and then installer. He brought his installer unit from the bottom of the sales units to the top in the few short years he held that position. Alongside the grueling work as a lineman in those North Dakota winters, he started a beekeeping business. At the peak of his operations, he was the fourth largest honey producer in the nation. He is known affectionately in this area as “The Bee Man”. He kept this company in business until he retired months before his 90th birthday.
If there are bees in heaven, he is probably in charge of them, and keeps one in his pocket as a pet.
