Alvin Carlson

Alvin Carlson, 80, of West Fargo, ND, formerly of Grand Forks, passed away on Saturday, September 01, 2018, at the Rosewood on Broadway nursing home in Fargo, ND.

Alvin was born August 10, 1938, in Fordville, ND, the son of Emil & Edna (Soper) Carlson.  He grew up in and attended schools in Fordville.

He married Sharalyn Ann Groff on Jan. 18, 1963, in Grand Forks and together they raised 3 children.

Alvin worked as a painter for Grand Forks Public Schools until his retirement.

He enjoyed fishing, bowling, playing pool and hunting.  Family was the most important thing to him.

Alvin is survived by his children, Scott Carlson of Fargo, ND, Doug Carlson of Fargo, Pam (John) O’Brien of Webster, ND; sister, Dodie Fenske of Hutchinson, MN, 3 grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sharalyn and 7 siblings.

Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at Amundson Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service at Amundsons.

Inurnment: Calvary North Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
