Allen York

Allen York, died on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at Altru Hospital with family by his side. Allen was born in Glendive, Montana on April 10, 1940, to Robert and Esther (Emerson) Haines, but was adopted by Edson and Maude (Prise) York. He joined the US Air Force where he proudly served for 20 years until his retirement. He traveled to 13 different countries and served in both the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. After his retirement, he worked various jobs throughout his life. He was the resident manager of apartments for several years until he retired. Allen married Karen Marshall and had 2 children: Kim York and Krystal (Jeff) Roth. Allen liked doing Christmas crafts and giving them to people, playing the accordion and the piano, and watching UND Hockey on TV and going to UND Football games. Allen is survived by his daughters Kim York and Krystal (Jeff) Roth, both of Grand forks, 2 grandchildren: Bret and Ashley Roth, both of Grand Forks, and a best friend Duane Cvancara, and his sister Marilyn (Calvin) Jones. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Russel, George, Wesley, and Bobby; his sisters: Laverne, Dellene, and his ex-wife Karen Rousseau. Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Amundson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the start of the service. Inurnment will be held later in the spring at Fargo National Cemetery.
