ALICE SEXTON
Alice Ann (Robinson) Sexton, 79, died Thursday, August 13, 2020, in Northwood Deaconess Health Center, Northwood, ND.
Alice Ann Robinson was born September 22, 1940 to Merlin and Elizabeth (Levi) Robinson in Grand Forks, ND. She lived her early years in Oslo, ND and eventually moved to Grand Forks, ND where she graduated from St. James High School. She was married to Jerry Sexton in January 1961 and they divorced in 2001. Early in their marriage, they lived in California and Tennessee before settling in Grand Forks, ND where she lived until she moved to Northwood Deaconess Health Center in Northwood, ND.
Alice worked as a bookkeeper for a number of years at several business around Grand Forks, but her priority was always as a homemaker. She was an excellent cook and a talented cake decorator. She was creative, loved to paint, was a seamstress, and had beautiful penmanship. She enjoyed playing bingo, shopping on QVC, and loved the color purple. She volunteered for many years with the Forks Handicapped Club and was a travel companion for her dear friend, and founder of the Forks Handicapped Club, Georgene Emard.
She is survived by her children and their families including: her son Terry (Shelly) Jorgensen of Buffalo, MN; her son Wade Sexton of Grand Forks, ND; her son Heath (Shelly) Sexton of East Grand Forks, MN; and her daughter Tanya (John) Butler of Grand Forks, ND; her seven grandchildren Mandy (Gary) Benz, Roxann Jorgensen (Floyd Norman), Crystal Jorgensen (Chad Hahn), Korbin Sexton (Veronica Boatman), Nathan Northagen, Casi Sexton (Gene Davis) and Bode Butler; her great-grandchildren Brandon Benz, Laticia Jorgensen, D’Angelo Jorgensen, and Jesse McLaughlin; and great-great-grandchildren Kingston and Devin Jorgensen and one on the way! She is also survived by her sisters, Roberta Jensen and Deb Nelson, and a brother, Doug Robinson, as well as several nieces and nephews and friends.
She is preceded in death by an infant grandson, Joshua John Quast; her brothers Robert Robinson and Greg Robinson; her mother and father; and several aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, and other extended family.
A special thank you to staff at Northwood Deaconess Health Center who cared for our mother.
Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 18, at Amundson Funeral Home, Grand Forks, ND.
