Alice Mina Gustafson was born April 1, 1940 to Wallace and Euphemia (Graetz) Hensrud in Grand Forks ND. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Thompson and graduated from Thompson High School.
Alice married Harold Gustafson on November 16, 1957. They raised one son Harold Jr. on the family farm in Reynolds ND. Alice and Harold were married for 58 years. They had five grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. They were members of Stjordalen Lutheran Church until its closing in 2005. Alice was a member of the VFW Post #1874 Auxiliary,
Alice made a loving home as a farm wife helping with the hay harvest every year. She cooked at the Hatton Prairie Village for twenty years and at the Gama Phi Beta Sorority at University of ND for eleven years. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and gardening. She and Harold traveled by train to California, Montana, and Florida. They also enjoyed camping on weekends.
Alice passed away April 3rd, 2024, at Hatton Prairie Village in Hatton where she had lived since February 2022.
She is survived by son Harold (LaRae) Gustafson, Reynolds ND; grandchildren Bob (Carrie) Thompson, Cedar Rapids Iowa, Bryan (Stephanie) Thompson, Chippewa Falls Wisconsin, Emily (Matthew) Tri, Moorhead MN, Laura (Luke) Ermer, Cavalier ND, Daniel (Jeri) Gustafson, Reynolds ND; and twelve great-grandchildren.
Alice was preceded in death by husband Harold, parents Wallace and Euphemia Hensrud, brothers Allen and Don Hensrud.
Alice will be remembered for her caring spirit, love of family and her comedic personality. Blessed be her memory.
