AARON CHRISTOPHER
Aaron Christopher, age 44 of Grand Forks, died in his home on Sunday, September 1, 2019. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 9, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. in the University Lutheran Church in Grand Forks. Burial will be at Maple Bay Free Lutheran Cemetery in Mentor at 2:30 P.M. Monday, September 9, 2019. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church.
Aaron Christopher, a son of Bob and Shari (Ring) Christopher, was born on March 29, 1975 in Grand Forks. He attended school in Manvel until high school. Aaron Graduated in 1993 from Grand Forks Central. He then attended University of Mary in Bismarck on an athletic scholarship. After the competition of his education, Aaron began working at Onyx Construction working on heavy equipment throughout the Northwest. In 2003 he was married to Dawn Degidio. After their marriage they eventually moved to Kentucky where he worked construction. They later returned to Grand Forks where Aaron worked at the Canad inn and eventually for Lowes in Grand Forks.
He enjoyed going the lake and spending time with family. Aaron was active in several High school Sports. He was a member of the Quicksilver track team, baseball team and the GFC football team, also being chosen to play in the ND Shrine football game. Aaron still holds the Grand Forks Central Shot-Put record. While at the University of Mary, Aaron participated in football and track and field. He went to National’s several times for track and field. In 1995 Aaron went with the U of Mary football team to Nationals. While in high school track and field he qualified in Throwing to attend the Junior Olympics.
He is survived by his mother, Shari Christopher of Grand Forks; daughters, Harleigh Stallworth of St. Cloud, MN, Samantha Christopher of Grand Forks, Nichole Varnell of Texas, Cheryl Overton and Angela Overton both of Grand Forks; son Jacob Salyer of Washington; a brother, Allen Christopher of Grand Forks; a maternal grandmother, Gladys Ring of Grand Forks and many nieces and nephews.
Aaron is preceded in death by his father, Bob Christopher, a brother, Earl Christopher; maternal grandfather, Walter Ring; paternal grandparents, Emmons and Mildred Christopher.
