Bergit Fish, 93, Grand Forks, ND died Monday, June 23, 2008 in Valley Eldercare, Grand Forks. Bergit Anderson was born March 23, 1915 in Bygland, MN, the daughter of Neil and Gunhild Loyland Anderson. She was raised on a farm in Bygland. Bergit married Leo Fish on November 27, 1935 in Grand Forks. They lived in East Grand Forks and later moved to Grand Forks where Bergit worked for many years as kitchen manager at the DAV-VFW Club. She later worked as a cook at the Eagles Lodge. Leo and Bergit had been married 59 years at the time of his death on December 4, 1994. Bergit was well known for her donuts and lefse. She was proud of being a charter member of the Eagles #350 Ladies Auxiliary and was their first president. She also loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Survivors include her sons, Jim (Margaret) Fish, Grand Forks, Gary (JoAnn) Fish, Bella Vista, AR, Gene (Colleen) Fish, Boise, ID, Roger (Ellen) Fish, Grand Forks and Bill (Mary) Fish, Coon Rapids, MN; 17 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol Mae Morwood; sisters Alice Stallmo and Mabel Jenson Kiefat; brothers Julian Anderson, Thelmer Anderson and Norman Anderson.
