Clarice Omang

Clarice L. Omang, 98, of Grand Forks, ND, died March 16, 2008 at Valley Memorial Eldercare Center. Clarice was born June 15, 1909 in Mekinok, ND to John and Maline Hensrud. She was raised and educated in Mekinock, ND. She also attended GF Central High school and Aaker's Business College. Clarice was the eldest child in her family of 5 brothers and 5 sisters. Clarice married Erwin Omang on October 5, 1934 in Crookston, MN. They lived in Mekinock where they farmed and raised 3 children. They moved back to Grand Forks where they spent their retirement years. Erwin died December 28, 1996. Clarice moved to Homestead Place, and lived there until shortly before her death. Clarice was a life long member of Ness Lutheran Church in Mekinock, ND. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed country western music, reading and baking. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her. Clarice is survived by her daughter Janice Brangham, Grand Forks, son Robert (Alice) Omang, Helena, MT, daughter-in-law Adrianna Omang, Fargo, sister Eloise (Al) Thoraldson, Billings MT, sister-in-law Evelyn Hensrud, Grand Forks, 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Clarice is preceded in death by her husband Erwin, son Richard, her parents and 5 brothers and 4 sisters. FUNERAL SERVICES: 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 24, 2008, at Amundson Funeral Home 2975 S. 42nd St. in Grand Forks, ND. VISITATION: One hour prior to the funeral service INTERMENT: Spring 2008- St. Paul's Cemetery, Honeyford, ND
