Dona Krom

Dona Jeanette Krom, 85, Grand Forks, ND, died Friday, November 16, 2007 in Altru Hospital of Grand Forks. Dona Jeanette Kjorlien was born July 27, 1922 in Grand Forks, ND the daughter of Alvin and Ann (Brown) Kjorlien. She graduated from Central High School in Grand Forks. Dona married George Krom in Grand Forks where they made their home. Dona was a telephone operator for Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. In later years, she also was an employee for the Rehab Hospital of Grand Forks. In her retirement years, she volunteered at the Rehab Gift Shop. She has been a long time member of the Federated Church of Grand Forks. Dona is survived by her daughters, Sharon (Donald) Borgen, Grand Forks, Jolene Johnson, Grand Forks, Kathy (Jerry) Aase, Hatton, ND; brother, Wayne Kjorlien, Mekinock, ND; grandchildren. Kim (Wayne) Dietrich, East Grand Forks, MN, Jonathan Borgen, Grand Forks, Andrea (Chris) Gustafson, San Diego, CA; great grandchildren, Emma, Jenna and Maggie Dietrich, Emily Gustafson; many nieces and nephews and a close family friend Caroline Sobolik. Dona is preceded in death by her husband, George in 1980 and by her sister, Joyce.
