Eleanor Vonesh

Eleanor G. Vonesh, 70, East Grand Forks, MN died Thursday, February 14, 2008 in Altru Hospital of Grand Forks, ND Eleanor Gail Severson was born July 11, 1937 in Grand Forks, ND the daughter of Emil and Gladys (Thompson) Severson. She was raised and educated in Reynolds, ND and graduated from high school there. She graduated from nursing college in Minneapolis, MN, then worked for several doctors in Minneapolis. She later returned to Reynolds where she completed her North Dakota and Minnesota Boards for LPN. Eleanor married Duane Vonesh on October 25, 1966 in Reynolds, ND. They lived in Reynolds briefly before moving to East Grand Forks, MN where they made their home. Eleanor worked for many years as a nurse at Valley Memorial Home Almonte. She also worked as a para for Central Middle School of East Grand Forks until her retirement. Eleanor was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who had a special gift for reaching out to others. She, in many ways helped care for many elderly family and friends. She was a volunteer at the hospital, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family, friends and especially her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Duane, East Grand Forks, MN; daughter, Dianne "Dede" (Barry) Nelson, Afton, MN; son, David (Stephanie) Vonesh, East Grand Forks, MN; grandchildren, Ellie Vonesh, Luke Vonesh, Tyler Vonesh, Matthew Nelson and Lindsey Nelson; Sisters, Judy (Pat) Durkin, California, Diane (Clint) Weekly, Alexandria, MN; brothers, Dale (Debbie) Severson, Fargo, ND and Gerald "Jerry" Severson, Wahpeton, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents
