Emmons Christopher

Emmons W. Christopher, 85, of Grand Forks, ND died Thursday, May 8, 2008 at 4000 Valley Square. Emmons Christopher was born August 14, 1922 in Emerado, ND the son of William and Emma (Kjorven) Christopher. He grew up and attended school in Manvel and graduated from high school there. Emmons married Mildred Visness on November 16, 1945 in Honeyford, ND. Emmons was employed as a Deputy Sherriff in Grand Forks County until being elected Grand Forks County Sherriff. He then served as the County Commissioner until retiring. Emmons enjoyed spending time at his Maple Lake cabin and especially spending time with his grandchildren. He and his wife Mildred also enjoyed square dancing and playing cards. Emmons will be greatly missed by all. Emmons is survived by: Son: Bob (Shari) Christopher, Grand Forks, ND Brother: Wallace (Donna) Christopher - Fergus Falls, MN Grandchildren: Shelly Christopher, Mark Christopher, Aaron (Dawn) Christopher and Allen Christopher. Three Great Grandchildren Emmons was preceded in death by his wife Mildred; son, Earl; sister, Lillian Ege; brothers, Arnold, Wendell, Norman and Lloyd.
