Evelyn Ann Carnahan, 84, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2008, at Altru Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Evelyn was born December 31, 1923, in Butte, MT, the daughter of Martin and Anna (Sodia) Simonich. She was baptized into the Catholic faith, she was raised and educated in Butte, MT. Evelyn was united in marriage to Howard Carnahan on December 2, 1945, in Butte. They made their home in Grand Forks, ND. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking & baking. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Grandma could always find something for them to eat. Evelyn was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. Evelyn will sadly be missed by her family including her son Ken Carnahan of Grand Forks; daughter, Marlene (Randy) Walters of Grand Forks; grandchildren, Brooks Carnahan, Katie Walters, Nick Walters, Matt Walters; great-granddaughter Madyson Carnahan; brother, William Simonich of Dillon, MT; sister-in-law Edith (Cecil) Carnahan of Tigard, OR; several nieces and nephews and special friends Christine Louden and Geri Thompson. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, parents; brothers, Louis and Rudy; and sister Dorothy. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church 524 5th Ave. N. in Grand Forks. VISITATION: Monday, March 31, 2008, from 5:00 -7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. vigil service at Amundson Funeral Home 2975 S. 42nd St. in Grand Forks. The visitation will continue one hour prior to the Mass at the church. INTERMENT: Memorial Park South Cemetery in Grand Forks.
