Grace Barry

Grace L. Barry, 93, Grand Forks, ND died Sunday, March 9, 2008 at Home. Grace L. Torgeson was born December 27, 1914 in Emerado, ND the daughter of Nels and Laura (Stokke) Torgeson. Grace was raised and educated in East Grand Forks, MN. She married Thomas Barry on November 19, 1950 in East Grand Forks, MN. They lived in Buxton, ND where Grace ran a café for a few years before returning to Grand Forks. Grace worked for Bridgeman Creamery in Grand Forks for 22 years. In retirement, she worked for 16 years as a volunteer at Altru Hospital. Thomas Barry died December 22, 1970. Grace was an active member of Augustana Lutheran Church for many years. She enjoyed family gatherings very much. Survivors include, son, James Barry, Grand Forks; sister, Muriel Craft, Crosby, MN and many nieces and nephews. Grace was preceded in death by her sisters, Alma Stadstad, Nellie Nygard, Myrtle Rodlund, Lillian Carlson, Hazel Harvey and Pearl Torgeson; brothers, Albin Torgeson, Clarance Torgeson, Orville Torgeson and Stanley Torgeson.
