James L. King, 43, Beloved Son of James and Joyce King, Grand Forks, ND died Sunday, May 4, 2008 in Red Wing, MN. James Landon King was born November 22, 1964 in Big Spring, TX the son of William "James" and Joyce (Monson) King. He lived in Colorado Springs, CO, Valley City, ND, North Michigan, Florida and Nebraska before coming to Grand Forks with his family in 1976. He graduated from Red River High School in 1982. James graduated from the University of North Dakota with degrees in both Mathematics and Computer Science. He lived in Oklahoma City where he trained as an FAA air traffic controller. He moved to Farmington, MN and worked in the Twin Cities as an air traffic controller. James returned to school at UND then moved to Longmont, CO for FAA computer training. He returned to Farmington, MN and worked as a computer programmer and analyst for the FAA. James enjoyed hockey and football games and was involved in his church, Hosanna Lutheran in Lakeville, MN. Survivors include his parents, James and Joyce King, Grand Forks, ND; brothers, Brian (Koracod Chimploy) King, Corvallis, OR, William King, Chicago, IL and Gerald King, Birmingham, England; nephew, Connor King; grandmother, Jane King, Ishpeming, MI.
