James Earl

James "Buss" A. Earl, 92, Grand Forks, died on June 19, 2008, at 4000 Valley Square Hearthstone. James was born on November 29, 1915, in Grand Forks, where he grew up and graduated from high school. Buss married Florence Johnston on December 30, 1937. They recently had a 70th Anniversary. Buss started the Siouxland Buffalo Company which he ran with his son Doug, he served as GF County Commissioner from 1977-88, was a past board member of the Grand Forks Trail Water District, was the organizer of the ND Buffalo Association, and was part of the motor brigade for President Roosevelt. He is survived by his wife, Florence; daughter, Linda (Beth) Maron of Sauk Rapids, MN; son, Douglas (Cindy) Earl of Grand Forks; grandchildren, Jim (Courtney) Maron of Winneconne, WI, Valerie (Rob) Boles of Lantana, TX, Derek Earl of Grand Forks, Lindsay Earl of Grand Forks; and 6 great-grandchildren, Rebekah, James, Katherine, and Jaclyn Boles, and Mason and Chloe Maron; brother, Harry Earl of Scroggins, TX; sister, Anne Overstreet of Alameda, CA. Buss was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Thomas; sisters, Doris and Lois. Funeral Services: Tuesday, June 24, at 10:00 a.m. at Amundson Funeral Home 2975 S. 42nd St. in Grand Forks. Visitation: One hour prior to the funeral service. Interment: Memorial Park Cemetery in Grand Forks, ND.
