James O. Moen, 68, died Sunday, June 15, 2008 in Fontana, California. James Oren Moen was born in Grand Forks on July 2, 1939 to Arthur and Agnetta (Hanson) Moen. He was raised and educated in Grand Forks, graduating from Central High School in Grand Forks in 1956. He later attended the University Of North Dakota. James served 3 years in the United States Army, and later 19 years in the United States Air Force, retiring as a Master Sergeant. He was a Vietnam Vet, and also served overseas in Germany, the NATO Headquarters in Belgium and also at the Pentagon. James was an Eagle Scout, and a member and officer in the Eagles and Elks Lodges for many years. He was an avid fisherman. James is survived by his brothers and sisters, Karen Jester (Ray), Puyallup, Washington, David Moen (Jewel), Grand Forks, June Gillet (Hal), Missoula, Montana, and Richard Moen (Claire), Grand Forks, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Graveside Services and Military Honors: will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2008 in Memorial Park South Cemetery, Grand Forks.
