Jean Skalicky

Jean E. Skalicky, 87, Grand Forks, ND died Monday, November 12, 2007 in Luther Memorial Home of Mayville, ND Jean Elizabeth Rierson was born July 28, 1920 in Whitman, ND the daughter of Otto and Minnie Rierson. She was raised and educated in Whitman and graduated from Whitman High School in 1937. Jean married Gordon Skalicky on October 12, 1938 at Lakota, ND. They lived in Cloquet, MN, Whitman, ND and in Michigan, ND until they moved to Grand Forks in 1965. After moving to Grand Forks, Jean graduated from Joseph's School of Hair Design. She worked at Osco Drug and the Rehab Hospital. Jean and Gordon wintered in Mesa, AZ for 34 years. Jean enjoyed many activities such as dancing and playing bridge. Gordon Skalicky died February 25, 2003. Survivors include son, Wayne (Jill) Skalicky, East Grand Forks, MN; daughter, Nan (Ralph) Campbell, Sun Lakes, AZ; grandchildren, Susan Campbell, Westlake Village, CA, John Skalicky, Sierra Vista, AZ and Eric Skalicky, East Grand Forks, MN; six great grandchildren. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon; a grandson, Steven Campbell; her parents; sister, Alice Huseby and brother, George "Buddy" Rierson.
